Do you know Polar bears? It lives near the North Pole. The color of their body are white. But, they have black skin under their fur. They like a snow. I think the North Pole is very cold because there are many snow. But they stay warm. Their fur keeps them snug. It called blubber. Their body is really big. I have ever seen it at the zoo. Have you ever seen it? They can swim. They are good at swimming. Why they can swim well? I want to swim well like them. They have a strong power. So the are very dangerous. If you encourage them, you may be killed by them.

As a bigger problem is global warming. The air is slowly getting hotter, which is causing the polar bears' icy home to melt away. So there are only around 20,000 polar bears left in the world.

BR 2-14: Elephants

This book was written by Kate Davies. The story is about elephants.

We can't often see the elephants. But, we can see to go to the zoo. When I went to Texas, my friend took me the zoo. Then, there were a lot of elephants. They are really big! A man did ride on the elephant. I was surprised. Many people gathered the place and saw it. There were also baby elephants. It was small yet. I thought baby elephants are very cute. The elephant is usually wise. On TV, I watched elephant which drawing a picture. A picture which was drawn by elephants was so good! And I heard that elephants can understand people's heart. The elephant bodies are very big. But, they are so kind animal.

If there is a opportunity, I want to ride on the elephant. I think it was really excited! But I am afraid of wild elephant, so I think good way that I go to the zoo. If you really like elephants, you should go to Africa. I think maybe there are a lot of wild elephants.

I write about Arisa. She went shopping few days ago. She bought Some cloths and accessory. The cost was 3000 yen at PARCO. She usually buys food in Seven Eleven. Her favorite color is pink. Her favorite fashion style is cool.

I write about Yuki. He likes dog because it is very cute. He would be bear because wild. He doesn't have a pet now. He wants to have a dog. He did have a goldfish before. It is no name. He liked it so so. He didn't take care of it. If he has a pet, he wants to go to the park with it. If he has a dog, he wants a black dog because it looks like strong. He didn't like a cat because it lose a lot of hair. He went to the zoo last when he was five. He went to the aquarium last when he was grade. He saw the Batman last. It is american comic and action. He doesn't know who was in it. The best movie which he was ever seen is Pirates of Calivian. It was in about Johnny Depp and Orland Bloom. Hee sees movies one in a month. His favorite movie star is Johnny Depp. He likes watching TV. He watch TV every day. His favorite TV program is Shabekuri 007. His favorite kind of movie is action movies. His favorite the best movies in Disney is Aladdin. He has ever seen the movies with GF. His favorite TV program nearly is One piece. He likes the horror movies.

I write about Misao. She doesn't like travelling because she gets tired. She has ever been to Georgia in USA. She went to there two two years ago because She wanted to watch concert. Georgia was very beautiful especially aquarium. She has ever been the best place is Hawaii. She went to Hawaii, when she was eighteen because of this, she went to meet relative. She wants to go to Belgium. She loves chocolate. She wants to go to Hokkaido in Japan. She wants to go many museums. She has old brother. Her grandparents are living just one. Her grandfather died before, She was born. She was spoiled. So her brother was envious. Her father is teaching English. Her mother is working at TV station. Her father is really skiing and her mother looks like mixed. Her parents gets along with each other. She lives in a house. There is Senba city. The house is normal. There is a store nearby. The kitchen of a house is convenience. She gets along with her brother. But she doesn't go shopping with him. She has 6 cousins. She gets along with them.

I write about Misaki. She works at KKR and marriage. She works 3~4 hours a week. She makes money 10000 yen. She doesn't like it because it is very hard. She likes most seeing the dress. She dislikes most clearing. She had a part time jobs before. It was the giving out the ticket. She made money 6400 yen. She liked most watching the baseball player. She didn't like mast very hard. But she wants to get a lot of money.  So she dose part time job.

BR 2-13: The Magic Pear Tree

This book was written by Rosie Dickins. This story is about selfish Shen, a hungry beggar, a kind woman, some yummy pears and a little bit of magic.

Shen lived in a little house with a big garden. there was a tree in garden. It is golden pears. There were too many pears for him. But he didn't want to share them. He took a box of pears to the market. The beggar said I want. But he didn't have money. Shen, shouted to him. A kind woman heard his shouting. She asked, "Can't you give away one pear?" Shen shouted to her again. She bought pear for the beggar. The beggar thanks to her. He ate the pear quickly. He spat out the seed. The beggar dug a hole and dropped in the seeds. And a tea seller gave him a teapot. He poured hot tea into the hole. Then, the crowd gasped. The shoot grew and grew. It was golden pears tree. The beggar gave a pear for a kind woman.

Suddenly, Shen looked around. All his pears had gone! It was a trick. But the crowd just laughed.

King Midas was very rich. And he was kind, too. One day, he met an old man. Midas helped the man to find his house. King Midas touched his stick and it turned to gold. He touched his palace and his dinner. They turned to gold!! "How can I make it stop?" said King Midas. "There is a secret river in the hills," said the god. Midas walked a very long way. At last, he found the river. And the water washed away his golden touch.

Do you know King Midas? He was a real king. He lived in Ancient Greece around 3000 years ago. An old legend says he went to the river Pactolus to wash. This river is in modern say Turkey. People still say that the stones on the river bed sparkle with gold.

BR 2-11: The Fish that Talked

This book was written by Graham Philpot.

Long ago, in India, there was a young man named Manu. One day, he was wading in a stream. The fish sparkled with a silvery light. And it could talk. Manu cupped his hands and carried the fish home. He put the fish into a jar of water and fed it with crumbs. The fish grew until it was too big for the jar. So Manu fed it with bread. Then it grew until it was too big for the well. It is interesting. Manu carried the fish to the river. He didn't feed it, but it still grew and grew and grew. Manu couldn't believe his eyes because the fish was enormous.

"Please take me to the sea," begged the fish. But, Manu thought that the fish weight a ton. But amazingly, the fish was as light as air. Manu threw the fish into the sea. The fish appreciated him. So Manu built a huge boat and filled it with plants and animals. Soon, dark clouds filled the sky. Then, the rain came. He peered into the dark.  He saw a silvery light. It was the talking fish. After a long time, they reached a great mountain. Suddenly, the fish changed. It was a powerful god who called Brahma. He is a very kind god.

Brahma vanished in a flash of silvery light. Manu never saw him again. After the flood, he worked hard to rebuild to the world. And he ruled wisely and well for the rest of his days.

This story comes from an ancient India poem. In some versions, it is the Hindu god Vishnu who takes the form of the fish saved the world.

BR 2-10: The boy who cried wolf

This book was written by Mairi Mackinon. This story is about Sam, some sheep, the villagers and a wolf.

One day, Sam lived in a little village in the mountains. Every say he took the sheep from the village. He watched them from morning until evening. Then he took them home again. He is like Peter. Sam was lonely and he was so bored because every day was the same. All his friends were down in the village. He tried talking to the sheep. But they didn't have much to say.

One day, he had an idea. "A wolf!" he shouted. People ran up the hill with him. Of course, there was not wolf. The villagers were angry, but Sam just laughed. A few says later, Sam was bored again. So He did same thing. Some people didn't believe him. A few days later, a wolf did come out of the forest. Sam was terrified. He ran down to the village as fast as he could. But, nobody believed him. In the end, Sam had to go back up the hill all alone. The wolf had killed some of the sheep. Sam stayed in the meadow until it was dark. Finally, the villagers came to find him.

Do you know this story? First told in Ancient Greece around 4000 years ago. Nobody knows exactly who Aesop was, but the stories are still popular, and they are known all around the world.
